This impressive winery is one of the newest built in the Uco Valley and has architecture that will leave quite an impression. The winery is named after a cross between Diamond and Andes, and so appropriately the icon of the winery is the steel diamond shaped sculpture in the center.
With two parts to the winery they are united in the middle with the steel diamond and breathtaking views of the Andes behind. Beneath the diamond is the atmospheric cellar room that is lit solely by natural light channeling down from the diamond to illuminate the concrete pillars, blue stone floor and resting barrels. Owned by the Bonnie family (who also own Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere and Chateau Gazin Rocquencourt in France), they started winemaking in Mendoza in 2005 with other French wine families who own wineries built in close vicinity, and together they make up the Clos de Los Siete project.
The winery makes Malbec, Chardonnay and Viognier as well as red blends, which can all be tasted in their gorgeous tasting room, which look out to the vineyards and Andes mountain range. Experience tip: If you simply want to enjoy the views and wine for a bit longer you can buy glasses of wine or by the bottle in their wine bar, or sit on the terrace taking in some Mendocinean sunshine.
This winery was built as if it were a real jewel taking into account every single detail, such as the wine storage crypt, the circular barrels’ room, the tasting rooms and the Wine Bar. Alfred- Alexandre and Michèle Bonnie, also owners of Château Malartic- Lagraviere in Bordeaux and Pessac - Léognan Château Gazin Rocquencourt, invite you to discover DiamAndes Winery and its wines.
